Tan-Man
Meet Tan-Man: A Story of Resilience and Hope
Tan-Man’s journey began in a heartbreaking situation—abandoned in the country, left in a crate with his siblings. Despite his rough start, Tan-Man has shown remarkable resilience and an incredible temperament. After spending much of his first year in boarding, Tan-Man found his way to the Canine Impact Foundation, where he is now undergoing training to become a life-changing emotional support companion for a survivor of domestic violence.
Tan-Man is excellent with other dogs, friendly, and gentle. His natural ability to remain calm and composed, even in new environments, makes him an ideal candidate for helping someone in need of emotional support and companionship. He is currently working on confidence-building exercises, public access training, and advanced obedience as he prepares for his new role.
We are excited to watch Tan-Man’s progress and know he will bring immense healing and joy to the life of the survivor he will one day support. Keep following his journey as he works hard to become the hero he was always meant to be!
Shiva
We are thrilled to introduce Shiva, the newest member of the Canine Impact Foundation program! Her story, unfortunately, is one we hear too often. Shiva was found wandering the streets, dragging a leash, clearly lost and alone for far too long. Despite the search, no one came forward to claim her.
Like many black dogs, Shiva fell victim to “black dog syndrome,” often causing her to be overlooked. She has been in a foster home since March—far too long for a dog as special as Shiva.
But here’s the exciting part: Shiva is nothing short of extraordinary! She has shown incredible resilience and potential to become a true lifesaver for someone in need. With her gentle nature and eagerness to connect, she’s ready to start her next chapter filled with love, hope, and transformation.
Shiva’s journey is just beginning, and with your support, we can give her the future she deserves. Let’s make her story one of triumph!
Stay tuned for updates on Shiva’s progress as she works towards becoming a service dog!
We are excited to introduce Jones, the newest member of the Canine Impact Foundation program! Jones’ story, like many we encounter, is heartbreaking. He was found abandoned in the middle of nowhere, discarded and left to fend for himself. Despite efforts to find his owner, no one came forward to claim him.
Jones was taken in by a compassionate foster who couldn’t bear to leave him in that condition. After months of care and recovery, Jones is now ready for a new chapter—one filled with purpose, love, and hope.
The exciting news is that Jones has shown amazing resilience and potential to thrive in a therapy role. His gentle, loving nature and eagerness to connect with people make him an ideal candidate to help those in need of emotional support and healing.
Jones’ journey is just beginning, and with your help, we can give him the chance he truly deserves. Let’s transform his story from one of abandonment to one of hope and triumph.
Stay tuned for updates as Jones works towards becoming a therapy dog!
We are thrilled to introduce Kuno (formerly known as Wybie), the latest addition to the Canine Impact Foundation program! Kuno’s story, like so many others, is filled with heartache. He was surrendered to the shelter under heartbreaking circumstances, and his grief over losing his owner was evident, showing just how deeply he bonds with his people.
The shelter staff saw Kuno's potential from the very beginning, and they fought tirelessly to keep him off the euthanasia list for months. His gentle nature and resilience shone through, and his behavior in public and at home proved he was truly remarkable.
Now, Kuno is ready to start a new journey—one filled with purpose and dedication. He has begun his service dog training, and we are excited to watch him transform into a lifeline for someone in need. His love and loyalty are unmatched, and with your support, we can help Kuno find his true calling, giving him a chance to be the hero he was meant to be.
Stay tuned for updates on Kuno’s journey as he works towards becoming a service dog, ready to bring hope and healing to someone special.
